Hi,

I need some more information on where do I find a cross reference for a BC109C NPN transistor. What I have with my breadboard kit is a NPN transistor 2SC1740 and the required parts and also a condenser microphone for this circuit. Also it says 9 volt, but what is the actual current requirement for this circuit to operate? Does it call for a 9 volt battery or does it require 6 AA batteries which adds up to 300 mA or does it require 6 AAA batteries which means 200 mA, or does it require 6 D batteries which is 800 mA of current. I tried to build this circuit, but it does not work right. I am checking my wiring connections for this circuit and transistor pin out.

Just be sure that it is enough to get the circuit working (I think 500mA should do) and then measure the actual current to decide wich batteries to use.
